Rachel Ziemba is a geo-economic expert and an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). As the founder of Ziemba Insights, she specializes in economic statecraft, focusing on the intersection of energy markets, sanctions and sovereign investment. She previously served as head of emerging markets research at Roubini Global Economics, where she led the firm’s global macro strategy and commodity research.
Her analysis is frequently cited by the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the European Central Bank, and she is a regular contributor to CNBC and Bloomberg. The co-author of two books on global investment strategy, she currently teaches international political economy at New York University’s Center for Global Affairs. She holds a master of philosophy degree from Oxford University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago.
