Bio
Kernaghan Webb holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in law and is an associate professor in the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Department of Law and Business. He is also the founding director of the Toronto Metropolitan University Institute for the Study of Corporate Social Responsibility. Kernaghan’s research has been cited and quoted by the Supreme Court of Canada, among others.
Prior to joining Toronto Metropolitan University, Kernaghan was the senior legal policy advisor and chief of research at Industry Canada’s Office of Consumer Affairs. He has also advised or been employed by other government and inter-governmental bodies, and he has been on the board of directors or otherwise assisted private sector, civil society organizations on regulatory matters. In addition to being appointed special advisor to the UN Global Compact regarding the development of the International Organization for Standardization 26000 social responsibility standard, Kernaghan has been appointed chair/convenor of numerous international and national social and economic standards development committees, for which he has received both international and national recognition for his leadership.
