Bio

Kamilla Bonnesen is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Education at the University of Ottawa. She specializes in the epidemiology of gender-based violence, with a focus on technology-facilitated harms, including the non-consensual dissemination of intimate images.

Kamilla holds a dual Ph.D. in community psychology and a master’s in public health from Georgia State University. An expert in advanced quantitative methods and psychometrics, she works to identify risk factors for violence among underserved populations to drive evidence-based policy and intervention strategies. Her recent work includes the development of measurement scales for intimate image abuse and systematic reviews of violence in higher education.
