Bio

Camelia Touzany is an interdisciplinary public policy professional focused on identifying policy blind spots and strengthening how governments respond to complex and evolving risks in Canada and globally. She is currently a program advisor at Public Safety Canada, where she supports federal program delivery in the Pacific region, including work on crime prevention initiatives in communities across British Columbia and the Yukon, advancing coordinated, regionally grounded responses to emerging challenges across northern, rural, Arctic and Indigenous communities.

With nearly a decade in the federal public service, Camelia has contributed to national efforts spanning emergency management, public safety and crisis response, including supporting national coordination during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also contributed policy research as a former graduate research fellow with Global Affairs Canada, where her work focused on advising Canada–China relations. She is particularly interested in how interconnected risks across trade, the global economy and national security shape outcomes across sectors such as public health and public safety.

Camelia holds a master’s degree in international public policy, specializing in international trade and human security. She previously earned a B.Sc. in human kinetics from the University of Ottawa, reflecting an early focus on public health that continues to shape her approach to complex societal challenges.
