Following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, US deemed the operation as a non-physical mode of warfare, using cyber and space capabilities to plan and successfully extract the leader and his wife from their compound.

To learn more about the growing role of satellites and cyberattacks in warfare, The Globe and Mail spoke with Aaron Shull. "In the months leading up to the strike, as well as during the attack, space-based assets were likely a key tool used by U.S. forces," said Aaron Shull.
